J. Escalante is a songwriter whose music moves between soul, R&B, hip-hop, country, and Americana. He began his musical journey on May 2, 2026.
Drawing inspiration from artists such as Boyz II Men, Babyface, Anthony Hamilton, Al Green, and Marvin Gaye, his writing centers on love, heartbreak, memory, hope, connection, and the moments that stay with us long after they are gone.
Beginning his songwriting journey in 2026, J. Escalante quickly began building a catalog rooted in honest emotion, vivid imagery, and storytelling.
Whether the story becomes a soulful R&B ballad, a harmony-driven love song, a rhythmic R&B track, or a stripped-down country story, the goal remains the same:

MY STORY
Songwriting came into my life later than I expected.
I began writing songs in 2026, but once I started, something clicked.
Ideas began arriving through memories, conversations, relationships, heartbreak, hope, and everyday moments that might seem small until they become a song.
I learned quickly that songwriting was not simply about finding words that rhyme.
It was about capturing a feeling.
Sometimes that feeling becomes R&B.
Sometimes it becomes soul.
Sometimes it becomes hip-hop.
Sometimes it becomes country.
Sometimes it lives somewhere between all of them.
But the heart of the song always comes first.
